My Educational Autobiography
I believe life is not a destination but a journey. I graduated from Glassboro State College with a degree in English and went into the whirlwind field of Public Relations. I was always interested in writing and published several magazine articles and poems. But something was lacking. I felt I was not making a difference. This feeling soared when I had my children and experienced the beauty of teaching and learning with new eyes. I decided to change careers. I went back to school to get my teaching certificate and worked for seven years in a private school. I substituted in a few districts but fell in love with Yocum School. The best career choice I have ever made was to return to school and become a teacher. I believe my current role as an educator is to facilitate student learning, be a positive influence on those around me and to continue my path as a lifelong learner.
