Dear Maple Shade Families,

I wanted to give an update on our schools for tomorrow, Wednesday, February 20, 2019. With the snow forecasted to start potentially around 11:00 am, it is difficult to make a definite call this early. I know a phone call for a half-day session in the early am is too difficult to arrange for our families. At the very least, the Maple Shade School District will have a half-day session tomorrow, February 20, 2019.

I will review the projected forecast in the am before I make the call to close school for the day. You will receive the call before 6:00 am if we are closing for the day.
Breakfast will be served but no lunch will be served.
PM half-day pre-school is canceled for tomorrow.

Below are the 4-hour session times-

Howard Yocum dismissal- 1:05

Maude Wilkins dismissal- 12:30

Steinhauer dismissal - 12:00

High school dismissal- 11:50

Preschool full day- 1:00

Preschool half-day am dismissal-11:10

The Maple Shade Schools will have a 4-hour session in all school’s tomorrow, February 20, 2019, and I will review the forecast in the am.

About Us

We believe:

  • All students can learn but do so differently.
  • Each student is entitled to personalized learning from caring adults in an intellectually stimulating environment that is physically and emotionally safe.
  • The most influential factor in the learning process and best predictor of student achievement is the teacher.
  • An effective educational system anticipates, plans and acts in response to a changing world, preparing each graduate for success in a global environment.
  • Students thrive in a learning environment that guides self-discovery and self-determination.
  • It is important to infuse technology throughout the curriculum to actively engage students and embrace their learning modalities.
  • Education must develop students’ understandings of the social, emotional, physical, economic, and environmental implications of their decisions.
  • We have the obligation to nurture a culture of respect that honors the uniqueness of the individual, provides a sense of belonging, and fosters responsibility toward the community.
