Staff Parents and Community Members:
You may have noticed advertising here on our website. We recently contracted with a company called Advantage 3. Advantage 3 works with school districts to solicit advertising on school facilities, buses and websites as a source of alternative revenue. With a cap on budgets/taxes and shrinking State aid, we wanted to explore this option as a way of generating revenue for the district. The ads on our website are the first step in this process. We have the right to turn down any advertising we believe is inappropriate or not in the best interests of Maple Shade Schools. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Thank you.

Guidelines for Sick Children
Dear Parents,
We have entered the cold and flu season and would like your help in following the guidelines listed below. The presence of so many children with fever, nausea, vomiting, coughing, and malaise interferes with the educational objectives of the school. The acutely ill child may be unable to benefit from his or her day at school. There is also a risk that other students may contract your child’s illness.
While we are mindful that many of you have obligations outside of your home, we need your help in keeping as many of us well as possible. This means you may have to stay home with your child when he or she is ill or provide alternative care for your child.
General guidelines include:
- Stay home for 24 hours after the last episode of vomiting.
- Stay home for 24 hours after the last elevated temperature.
- Stay home for 24 hours after the last dose of anti-fever medication AND normal temperature for that 24-hour period.
- Stay home for 24 hours after antibiotics are begun for strep infections.
- Stay home if child is not feeling well enough to participate in school activities.
Please reinforce to your children that hand washing is the best prevention to stop the spread of illness.
Thank you for your assistance,
Maple Shade School District’s Nurses
