Maple Shade High School utilizes the Naviance platform to complete the college application process.

Naviance supports college applications and offers students career assessments and exploration, personal traits inventories, and college research tools.

Naviance will be matched with the Common Application (Common App) to support the students' college applications, request letters of recommendation, and transcript submission.

Making The Match

1. Create a Common App account by clicking HERE.

2. Log in to your Common App account.

3. Complete the Profile, Family, and Education sections under the Common App tab.

4. Add colleges you are applying to under My Colleges.

5. Open one of the colleges you added to your Common App under My Colleges.

6. Click on Recommenders and FERPA under the college and submit the FERPA Release Authorization.

7. Open another tab and log in to your Naviance account.

8. Click on Colleges I'm Applying To.

9. Select Match in the pink rectangular box.

10. College/s not listed in Common App >> input colleges manually in Naviance.

11. Match only occurs once >> Adding additional colleges in Common App after the Match?  Add the additional colleges manually in Naviance.

12. Once matched, complete the Testing, Activities, Writing, and Courses & Grades sections and college-specific questions under the Common App and My Colleges tabs in the Common App.

1. If you add colleges to your Common App after matching it with Naviance or you are applying to colleges via the school specific college application, you will need to input the college(s) in your Naviance account, as Match only occurs once.

2. Add additional colleges to your Common App under the College Search > My Colleges tabs.

3. Log in to your Naviance account >> under My Favorites, select Colleges I'm Applying To.

4. Type in the name of the college you are adding to your list by clicking the pink + to search for the college.

5. Select the college, application type, and how you are submitting your application (Common App or direct to the institution).

6. Click Add Application.

Naviance eDocs is an electronic college application tool that allows high schools to prepare and send college application documentation electronically.  Naviance eDocs supports the Common Application and other electronic destinations (non-Common Application).  

Students will request letters of recommendation and transcripts (initial, mid-year, and final) through their Naviance account.

School Counselors will utilize eDocs to prepare, send, and track college application documents electronically.  Naviance has partnered with the Common Application to enable a smooth submission of documents to support a student's college application.

Search and create a list of colleges you are applying to through your Naviance account.

Did you change your mind about applying to a college that you added to your list or want to add an additional one?  Edit your list in Naviance.

1. Log in to your Naviance Student account.

2. Select the Colleges tab > National Scholarship Search.

3. Complete the About You, Your Major, Interests and Activities, and Your Academics to find matching scholarships.

4. View your matching scholarships list populated by Naviance.  Under each scholarship, click Apply Now if you are interested in applying for that specific scholarship.

5. Keep track of your scholarship applications by creating a Scholarship List and documenting it in Scholarships I'm Applying To.
