Your Board of Education will ask voters on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, to authorize the District to sell bonds to finance repairs and improvements at all 4 schools and Central Office.
Projects include:

  • Site Improvements: Paving, Parking, and ADA-compliant ramps
  • Interiors: Security vestibules, safety-strengthened doors and hardware, ceilings and lighting, flooring and bathroom upgrades
  • Air-Conditioning in ALL areas (most areas are part of Question 1, but some are part of Question 2)
  • Electrical improvements to clocks & bells, access controls, electrical panels and fire alarms,
  • plumbing improvements for water fountains and coolers,
  • New Construction for
    • 9 classrooms at Maude Wilkins, an
    • auxiliary gym at the High School
    • addition at the Central Office
  • The Science Labs, Weight Room, and Rooms B14-17 at the High School would also be renovated extensively. This “Building Excellence” proposal meets the aspirations of the community and the competitive educational needs of our students. This program of building improvements would have a positive impact at each grade level, would protect our school investments, and would ensure our high academic standing for years to come.

  • The proposal would expand Pre-School and Kindergarten opportunities while realigning Yocum Elementary as a PreK-Grade 1 school, and Wilkins Elementary as a Grade 2-4 school.
