Dear Parents and Families of Maple Shade,

Welcome back to the 2025-2026 school year. A new school year offers a fresh beginning and endless

opportunities for growth, learning, and success for everyone.. Our first day for all students is Wednesday, September 3rd, for a full-day of school. Our full school calendar can be accessed on our website or on the parent portal.

We’re excited to welcome several new faces across our four schools and within our administrative team. As previously shared, Mr. Matthew La Grou has transitioned from his role as principal of Maple Shade High School to Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. Ms. Rebecca Metzgar joins us as the new principal of MSHS, bringing valuable experience from her years in Cherry Hill. At Howard Yocum Elementary, Mrs. Sarah Cervo has stepped into the role of principal and is joined by Mr. Jason Rawlins, our new assistant principal.

All of our newly hired certificated and non-certificated staff are in place and eager to begin the year. Classrooms have been thoroughly cleaned and prepared, and our curriculum has been thoughtfully refined by master teachers and administrators—ready for our students to engage, explore, and learn.

As we begin another school year, I’m filled with gratitude for the strength and spirit of our entire school community. Maple Shade is truly fortunate to have such dedicated families who continually show up, lend a hand, and contribute to the life of our schools. It’s a privilege to work alongside so many individuals who give their time and talents in service to our town. We can all take pride in being part of a community that values education and puts children first. The continued success of our schools and our shared vision depends on working together—because we are, and always will be, one Wildcat family.
